Travel Counsellors is looking for experts among its homeworkers to support a new programme designed to help seasoned cruise experts and new-to-cruise agents.
The homeworking giant has launched its Set Sail programme following record cruise sales in 2023 when 58% of Travel Counsellors made a cruise booking as figures exceeded £60 million.
The six-month programme is open to 150 Travel Counsellors who want to grow their cruise sales. It will offer a mix of digital, virtual and live sessions as well as monthly spotlight sessions with key suppliers.
Participants who complete the Set Sail programme will also have the chance to experience Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, Aqua, on a three-night sailing before its maiden voyage next year.
In 2023, 22 Travel Counsellors sailed on Explora Journeys’ Explora I ship as a reward for their cruise sales.
Travel Counsellors also aims to identify a team of cruise experts – called Cruise Ambassadors – to support those in the programme.
The initiative follows the introduction of the company’s Disney Ambassadors and Adventure and Touring Ambassadors.
Janet Whittingham, head of cruise at Travel Counsellors, said: “At Travel Counsellors, we are committed to empowering our travel entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge they need to scale their business in a way that suits them.
“The Set Sail Programme and the appointment of Cruise Ambassadors are designed to help our community embrace the booming cruise market and record sales that we are seeing.
“We believe these initiatives will not only deepen their expertise but also provide unique opportunities to experience the latest in cruise offerings and help our customers fall even more in love with exploring the world through cruising.”
